In UIM’s pilot study, Türkiye’s eight most valuable brands appeared in 46 of 48 recommendation opportunities across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Mode—a 95.8% visibility rate. Yet the same study showed that appearing, being recommended first, and being represented accurately are distinctly different outcomes. Vestel, for example, appeared in every response but ranked 2.83 on average. Ziraat Bank appeared in only four of six opportunities, with an average rank of fifth.
The real issue is this: Visibility is the AI-era equivalent of an impression. Its value should be evaluated across three stages:
- Presence: Does the brand appear in the response?
- Accuracy: Is it represented with current, strategically relevant information?
- Economic contribution: Does that representation translate into preference, revenue, and profit?
Consider a company generating TRY 100 million in annual revenue. If AI-assisted research influences 10% of sales, and inaccurate representation causes the company to lose just 5% of that demand, the result is TRY 500,000 in annual revenue at risk.
At Sellf, we see visibility not as an outcome, but as a system input that must produce measurable commercial value.
The question: AI may be showing your brand—but is it recommending you for the right reasons?
